This was our first USDA REAP hotel project. Since then we have successfully done many projects and helped many businesses make a green choice and help them expand their business. The fact that there was federal assistance available for going solar for a hotel because of its location was enough to convince the owners to do it, since they also understood the savings in energy costs. One major challenge that faced us with this project was that we had to rent a special crane to move materials onto the building due to the design of the roof and its lack of accessibility for performing the installation. However, we were able to complete the solar panel installation successfully despite these obstacles. The owners were happy with their decision to go solar and have been enjoying their savings since 2016.
